About Nathan Giglierano

A Midwestern native, Nathan Giglierano (a.k.a. Mr. G) began playing the violin in 4th grade in his hometown of Iowa City. Since then, Nathan has played concerts all over Europe, Central America, and North America. Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance with a Historical Performance minor from Oberlin Conservatory, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2013. He then graduated summa cum laude from UW Madison in 2015, with a master’s degree in Violin Performance. His primary teachers have included Allen Ohmes, Marilyn McDonald, and David Perry.

Currently, Nathan maintains a private violin and viola studio while playing concerts in the greater Madison area. He enjoys playing regularly with the Madison Bach Musicians, Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble, and Sonata à Quattro. He also plays occasionally with the Dubuque and Madison Symphonies.

Nathan provides each of his students with individualized instruction, drawing on his expertise as a performer in a wide variety of styles. A lifelong learner himself, Nathan works to cultivate an enjoyment of music and learning with each student as they progress in their musical journey. In addition to playing and teaching, Nathan builds violins and violas. Click here to see his instruments.
